Campaign of the Month: August 2013
Dragons of Autumn
Oldfather Stonefist was the clan leader of the Stonefist clan during the Age of Might. He and a few other clan leaders decided to settle in outposts on the surface mountains and hills surrounding the kingdom of Thorbardin. Shortly after the Cataclysm, the dwarves of Thorbardin sealed off their kingdom from all surface dwellers. Although Oldfather was living on the surface, he did not consider himself an emigrant from the mountain kingdom. Many of his clan and immediate family were still living in the kingdom when the gates were sealed. Oldfather vowed that he would return, along with his people, to the mountain kingdom.
Oldfather was said to have traveled north in search of the lost kingdom of Thorin, its capital city Thoradin, and his mountain dwarf cousins – the Calnar. When the aging Oldfather witnessed the devastation wrought by the Cataclysm, he died. The details of his death are unknown, but many bards suggest it was from the sorrow at knowing he would never live under a mountain again.
Oldfather’s axe was given to the Neidar Clan with instructions to return his axe to Thorbardin if the mountain dwarves ever open their kingdom to the surface again.
