Campaign of the Month: August 2013
Dragons of Autumn
Autumn settles on the plains of Abanasinia as rumors of war and strange creatures travel from northern lands. A local clan of hill dwarves and a kender meet in the tree-town of Solace after many years spent apart, hoping to reminisce about old times and adventures past. But the people of Ansalon need heroes, as the ancient gods have returned to the world, and brought creatures of myth and legend to fight in their battles. Dragons – ancient, deadly, and powerful – have returned to Krynn. An adventure like no other calls this group of heroes to re-discover the greatest gift given to the mortal races.
Dragons of Autumn Comments
Congrats! Absolutely well deserved.
congrats on COTM! Well deserved. Keep up the amazing work.
Congratulations on the CotM award!
Congrats on your COTM win!
Anybody who ends his css with lyrics from KC & the Sunshine Band I am a fan of…
Robert – The site looks great and I also love the new interactive map.
I am happy to see your hard worik is also admired by others (ie; twiggyleaf and killervp).
Keep the story coming. Ang (AKA Mora Stonefist)
Truly an awesome looking site!
There are such outstanding design elements to this campaign. As I have said before, the interactive map showing the route of the storyline moving between locations sets the new benchmark for the ingenuity of maps on Obsidian Portal.
The Hidden Drop Down Tags on the right navigation bar make me blink in amazement. A very NEAT feature indeed. Everything about the site is so thoughtfully worked out and so beautifully illustrated. I love the way that (for example) when you click into the “GODS” section, the options are also presented by new WIKI buttons at the top. Navigation is just such a pleasure on this site.
I always like a few custom rules and the extra hit points allowed in this game make me think it must be pretty dangerous. I was curious to see what “EXPLOITATIONS” were but when I read “As directed by DM” I felt gratified. (I come from the OLDSKOOL where the DM is always right, so I fully support such initiatives.
I like the humour in the adventure logs too. “Previously on Lost…” is a great way to start. The adventure logs are all pretty detailed and I like the uniformity of the fantasy comic strip pictures. I read through a few of the adventure logs and they are all pretty comprehensive and well written. The whole site is a pleasure to experience and I look forward to hearing some of the “BEHIND THE SCENES” thoughts in The New Plot Club!

I also love that fading in “ENTER THE WIKI” on the home page.
Well Robert, you said you were "off to start your own acknowledgements page, and you certainly DID! Looks great!
Fully LOVE that interactive map! OP just keeps getting better and better and this is the new MAP Yardstick as far as I am concerned! twigs
Robertkety,
That is an awesome main wiki – the map effect is superb!
I backed all three of those kickstarters as well (D’forge is some awesome stuff)
Keep up the great work.
You’ll all be happy to know that I’ve helped secured the survival of our campaign website. Before now, I’ve been paying $40/year to keep our campaign website open. Recently, Obsidian Portal held a kickstarter to raise money for a website upgrade. Not only will this upgrade improve the appearance of the website, but it will improve the multimedia and publishing aspects as well. The upgrade will make it much easier for me to post the adventure log for each of our sessions, but I will be able to add audio clips! (like a clip of the Benny Hill theme for those gully dwarves in Pax Tharkas.
In return for supporting the Obsidian Portal kickstart, I’ve secured a lifetime ascendant membership for my account and our campaign wiki!!
In addition, I’ve also supported kickstarts for Dwarven Forge and Itar’s Workshop. If you’re not familiar with these names, you will be by the end of this year. Soon we’ll be tossing the ink and vinyl map and replacing it with an actual 3D dungeon! We’ll get to see walls, doors, items, stairs, and almost any other element! The dungeon terrain and accessories should be here by the end of the year!
In other news, I haven’t forgotten about scheduling the next session. As many of you know, I spend half the year on night shift. Additionally, you are about to start a part of the story that I’m not very familiar with. I’ve been reading up on what’s to come and I’m pretty excited to play again. I’ll probably send out an e-mail after this weekend to schedule the next session.
All set on the last names!
We all chose the last name Stonefist with the intent to have the same last name with the exception of Draigo and of course Kip.
You guys can all add whatever last name you like. You all belong to the Neidar clan which is the clan of Hill dwarves. Clans in Dragonlance are more like subraces; however, you guys did all specify that you were closely related despite also being Neidar dwarves. That doesn’t mean you guys have to have the same last name.
Nevermind. I found the area that allows me to edit my character and updated a few things. Loveing this new site.
It would be great if you included our last names since we are all related and it makes the game unique.
This is AWESOME!!! Really helps keep me reminded of what happened in the previous sessions; especially when there is considerable time between them! Thanks babe!!!!
